The Inspiration

Floral and still life artwork emphasizes the beauty of life. Painting floral still life is a joy for me for many different reasons. I love any type of flower. Their colors, meanings, shapes, forms and even their smells attract me. Some of my favorites include roses, hydrangeas, heliconias, tulips and poppies. I believe that flowers are wonderful creations of God. They bring romance and enjoyment to our lives, and are symbols of beauty to people everywhere.

Many of my still life paintings feature flowers as the main subject. These colorful blooms are used for a wide variety of occasions around the world. In many cultures, flowers are an important part of life’s major events. They brighten our living spaces, are thoughtful gifts for our loved ones, and even offer nourishment to both animals and humans.

I also enjoy placing animals in my floral and still life artwork, especially the delicate beauty of the butterfly. Some of my still life paintings include landscapes, often inspired by places I have visited or lived. This tropical paradise reminds me of Bahia Salinas Beach in my home land of Puerto Rico.
